Pune: It is our pleasure at iWGA to present to you this year’s Awardee in Literature category, Indira Dangi.
Indira is a Hindi short story writer, Novelist and a playwright with a career spanning over a stupendous 25 years. The great Hindi critic late Shri Namvar Singh once called her, “Hindustan ki awam ki nai awaz”.
Indira has garnered several accolades over the years, such as The National Award for her book 'Haweli Sanatanpur'. Her play Rai has been published and played both on national and the international stages like Boston, New York, and New Jersey.
Indira’s stories are very famous in other parts of Asia as well such as Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, and Pakistan. Her stories 'Leap second', 'Bottle ka Pani', 'The hero' and others have been translated in eleven Indian languages.
We, at iWGA, appreciate Indira’s hold on her art and craft. We wish her great health and loads of success for future endeavors.
