Leadore, Idaho – Walter Wayne Reich, a cherished grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Leadore on October 2, 2024.
He was 85 years old and was under the care of Brio Hospice.
Born and raised in Rigby, Walter had a deep love for the mountains and wildlife, which he was able to enjoy in the final year of his life.
His family remembers him fondly for his storytelling and love for trucking, often reminiscing about his adventures in Jackson Hole.
Walter’s grandson, Talon Reich, shared his heartfelt regrets for not visiting more often, saying, “I thought I’d have more time.”
Talon also expressed gratitude for Paul and Margaret, who cared for Walter with love and devotion in his final years.
Condolences poured in on social media, with Ty Brown offering, “My condolences to you and your family,” while Sheri Walton noted, “He was truly an amazing guy… so sorry for your loss.”
Walter’s presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community who loved him.
His legacy as a devoted grandfather and a kindhearted man will live on through the countless lives he touched.
