Knockatallon, Co Monaghan – Rowell Ladao, a Filipino father of two, tragically lost his life in a bicycle accident on September 21, 2024.
Rowell had moved to Knockatallon just six weeks prior, seeking better opportunities to provide for his young family back in the Philippines.
His untimely death has left the community in shock and his family heartbroken as they prepare for the difficult process of bringing his body back home for burial.
A memorial mass for Rowell will be held on October 9, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Knockatallon, with donations being accepted to support his family during this devastating time.
A GoFundMe campaign has also been organized by Julie McPhillips to help cover funeral expenses and assist Rowell’s family with future financial burdens.
One post expressed the community’s sorrow: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Rowell’s young family at this devastating time.”
Rowell leaves behind his wife and two children, who are waiting in the Philippines for his final journey home.
The distance and financial burden make this loss even more agonizing for his loved ones, as they prepare to say goodbye to their beloved husband and father.
