Ross Brezovsky, Former LSU Baseball Director and Notre Dame Star, Passes Away at 39 Following Battle with Cancer

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Ross Brezovsky, a beloved former LSU Baseball director of operations and standout Notre Dame athlete, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 39 after a four-year battle with cancer.

Brezovsky, known for his dedication both on and off the field, was a key figure in LSU’s baseball success between 2009 and 2013, a period that included winning the 2009 College World Series National Championship, three SEC Tournament titles, and two SEC Championships.

Brezovsky also had an impressive college career as a four-year starting infielder and outfielder at Notre Dame, where he played 220 games and earned a .289 batting average.

His leadership and contributions to the LSU Tigers under coach Paul Mainieri left a lasting legacy in the baseball community.

Friends, teammates, and fans have expressed their deep condolences on social media.

John Zeliff, a high school teammate, said, "As a lifelong friend and high school teammate of Ross Brezovsky, he is the best teammate/father I’ve ever known."

Others like Darlene David added, "Praying for all of his family and friends."

Brezovsky is survived by his wife, Kim, and their two daughters.

The community mourns the loss of a man remembered for his kindness, hard work, and unwavering spirit.
