Lapeer, Michigan – Richard Griggs and his son, Marcus Griggs, tragically lost their lives in a devastating train accident on the evening of September 27, 2024.
The fatal collision occurred when the traffic control arms failed to lower, allowing their truck to cross the tracks directly into the path of an oncoming train.
Both Richard and Marcus were killed instantly, leaving family and friends in shock and mourning the sudden loss.
Family members have expressed their heartbreak on social media, with Star Lee Griggs writing, “Ricky Griggs lit up the room wherever he went no matter the circumstances. His son Marcus was a sweet caring man.”
Another family member, Misty Phillips, added, “Dad, I love you more than I could ever express. You are my forever angel.”
The Griggs family, now left to cope with this tragic loss, has been supported by a GoFundMe page set up by Austin June to help cover the costs and expenses associated with the accident.
Richard Griggs is survived by his wife and other children, who are struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable tragedy.
