Patrick Hayes, 61-Year-Old Hideout Resident, Tragically Killed in Suspected Road Rage Incident Near Ross Creek Trailhead

Hideout, Utah – Patrick L. Hayes, a 61-year-old resident of Hideout, was found deceased on the morning of Thursday, September 26, 2024, near the Ross Creek Trailhead, just north of Jordanelle Reservoir.

Authorities have confirmed that Hayes was the victim of a homicide, with his cause of death determined to be a fatal gunshot wound.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible deceased individual at approximately 11 a.m. and discovered Hayes’ body on the shoulder of the road.

Investigators believe the incident likely occurred late in the evening on September 25 and could be linked to a case of road rage.

Officials are looking for individuals connected to a second vehicle, described as either a Jeep Gladiator or Rubicon, urging them to come forward with any information.

“There is no current danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office assured in a statement.

Family members and friends expressed their grief on social media.

Patrick’s sister, Corinna Hayes, posted, “We lost my brother Patrick on Sunday.

He is now in his heavenly home in Glory.”

Condolences have continued to pour in, with Lori Carnes commenting, “Sending prayers for you and your family,” and Steve Willis stating, “Sorry for your loss.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.
