Olivia DaSilva, Beloved Member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Passes Away at 79

Waterbury, CT – Olivia Da Conceicao Brago DaSilva, a cherished member of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, has passed away at the age of 79.

She died peacefully on October 5, 2024, in the VITAS Unit at Saint Mary’s Hospital.

Olivia was the widow of Tony DaSilva and was born on February 7, 1945, in Lourosa, Aveiro, Portugal, to Simon and Olivia da Conceicao Braga.

She worked as a machine operator at Devon Precision and Century Brass before her retirement and was known for her passion for family, sewing, gardening, and frequent travels to Portugal.

Her love for family, including her two sons Rui and Marco DaSilva, and granddaughter Lianna, was deeply evident in her life.

The family has received an outpouring of support on social media.

Rui Dasilva shared, “Fly to the angels, mom, we love you,” while Russell Watson expressed, “So sorry for your loss, brother, prayers for you and your family.”

The funeral service will take place on October 11, 2024, with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at All Saints Cemetery.

She is survived by her extended family and numerous friends who will remember her fondly.
