Nashville, Tennessee – The community is grieving the loss of Miriam Field, a prominent advocate for harm reduction and a dedicated supporter of those affected by substance use disorders.
Her sudden passing has left a significant void in Nashville, where her efforts to save lives and assist vulnerable individuals made a lasting impact.
Miriam Field was a key figure in harm reduction initiatives, working with Mainline Harm Reduction to reverse over 100 overdoses and distribute more than 50,000 doses of Narcan, a medication used to counteract opioid overdoses.
Her unwavering dedication took her to places others hesitated to venture, offering care, love, and support to those in need.
A fundraiser organized by Kristi Stringer, titled "Honoring Miriam Field: Dedicated to Saving Others," has garnered $675 of its $10,000 goal so far, with contributions from community members who were touched by her work.
Sam MacMaster expressed his sorrow on social media, stating, "Tragic loss for the community of someone who offered love and fought to help others avoid overdose."
The funds from the campaign will be used to cover the costs of Miriam’s final services, providing her the farewell she truly deserves.
Miriam’s legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire those committed to the fight against substance use and its devastating impact.
