St. Charles, Missouri – Mariette Kay Holtz Mesey, beloved wife of musician Michael Mesey, tragically passed away recently following a long battle with pre-existing health conditions.
She was well-known for her kind heart, positive spirit, and unwavering strength throughout her life.
Mariette’s health issues, which began in her teenage years, had been a significant part of her journey, but despite the challenges, she continued to spread love and positivity to those around her.
Her passing has left family, friends, and members of the REO Classics Band devastated.
The band, in a GoFundMe post, expressed their deep sorrow and gratitude for the love and support shown to Michael and Mariette during this difficult time.
“Mariette had pre-existing health problems that started in her teens,” the post read, noting that these issues prevented her from obtaining life insurance, leading to a fundraising effort for her memorial and final expenses.
Arrangements for her memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Baue Funeral Home in Cave Springs from 4 to 8 PM.
Condolences flooded social media as friends shared their grief.
Betsy Nelson wrote, “She was such a beautiful spirit and will be so missed by all,” while Beth Mills added, “She was such a sweet soul.
