Amherst, New York – Marcus Powell, a 23-year-old resident of Williamsville, was pronounced dead at the scene following a devastating car accident on September 25, 2024.
The collision occurred around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Sheridan Drive and Esjay Road, involving a 2019 Honda CRV and a 2008 Chevy Impala. The impact caused the Impala to burst into flames, claiming the life of Powell, who was driving.
A child, aged three, was critically injured in the crash and was initially taken to Erie County Medical Center before being transferred to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition.
Local authorities are investigating the incident and seeking witnesses with dash-camera footage to aid in their inquiries. No charges have been filed as of yet.
