San Antonio, Texas – Manuel Mendoza, a 20-year-old resident, tragically passed away in a car accident on September 25, 2024.
The accident occurred around 9 p.m. on Interstate 35 near a construction zone, where the vehicle Mendoza was traveling in collided with the back of an 18-wheeler.
Mendoza, a backseat passenger in a Nissan Altima, suffered severe blunt force injuries.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Mendoza’s death, leaving the local community in mourning.
The crash also resulted in critical injuries to the driver and two other passengers, prompting an ongoing investigation by San Antonio police.
While authorities are still examining the cause of the accident, initial speculation points to distracted driving or speeding as potential factors.
