Saratoga Springs, NY – Makenzie T. Minkler, a 25-year-old resident of Rensselaer, tragically passed away following a fatal two-car accident on October 1, 2024.
The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. near the Exit 14 ramp on the Northway, where Minkler’s vehicle overturned multiple times.
She was quickly transported to Saratoga Hospital, but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
The New York State Police confirmed that the right lane of northbound Interstate 87 and the Exit 14 off-ramp remained closed for nearly four hours as authorities investigated the crash.
A secondary collision involving three other vehicles took place as drivers reacted to the initial accident, though no serious injuries were reported from that incident.
Tributes and condolences for Makenzie T. Minkler flooded social media.
Bryan Ketchum expressed his sorrow, saying, “Sorry for all the families involved. Such a devastating loss at such a young age.”
Wendy Kendziora added, “Absolutely devastating, my heart goes out to Derek and his entire family.”
