Raleigh, North Carolina – Jason Parkin, widely known by his nickname "Devil Boy" and a key member of Darius Rucker’s touring family, has passed away unexpectedly.

Parkin, who served as the production manager for Darius Rucker and Hootie & the Blowfish for over 20 years, died shortly after a tour concluded, leaving the music world in mourning.

Chris Condon, a close friend, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, describing Jason Parkin as “incredibly talented and kind,” and someone who was always behind the scenes making concerts unforgettable.

“He always made me and Beth feel welcome,” Chris wrote.

“He was the guy behind the curtain who most fans never knew, but a major part of the show.”

Beth Souza Condon echoed these sentiments, simply writing, “RIP DB!!”

Darius Rucker also expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of Parkin, whom he considered more than just a colleague, but a brother.
