Jamie Freeman, Beloved Father and Community Member, Passes Away Unexpectedly at Age 47

Houghton, Michigan – Jamie Freeman, a cherished father and valued member of the local community, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2024, at the age of 47.

Freeman, originally from the Milwaukee area, moved to Houghton, Michigan, in 2022, seeking peace in the serenity of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

A man of many talents, Freeman was a DJ, radio host, and poker enthusiast, and he was well-known for his acts of kindness.

He would often leave gifts like flowers and chocolates for his friends and co-workers, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Freeman worked at The Fire Station Cannabis Co. in Houghton, where his positive energy touched the lives of many.

According to those who knew him, Jamie was always attentive, treating every customer and task with care and compassion.

Sadly, Freeman suffered from severe Multiple Sclerosis, which contributed to financial struggles and left him without life insurance at the time of his death.

Jamie leaves behind his beloved 25-year-old daughter, Lo Freeman, who is currently traveling between Milwaukee and Houghton to manage funeral arrangements.

In memory of Jamie, a fundraiser has been organized by Michael Marcotte to assist Lo with funeral expenses and travel costs.

Patty Zatty Zastrow recalled Jamie’s fun-loving nature, saying, "Gosh, I have so many stories about Jamie!" while Christina Parker commented, "He was such a great guy with an amazing personality."

Freeman’s friends and family are hoping to give him the burial service he deserves as they mourn the loss of such a kind-hearted individual.
