Gail Loftus, Beloved Member of Hopkinsville, Passes Away at Age 82

Hopkinsville, KY – Gail Loftus, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehab due to natural causes.

Her death has left her family, friends, and the Hopkinsville community mourning the loss of a beloved figure.

Born on March 19, 1942, in Hopkinsville, Mrs. Loftus was the daughter of the late Elwood Duvall and Glenna West Taylor.

She was a retired Civil Service employee from Fort Campbell and a devoted member of New Barren Springs Baptist Church.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Loftus, her brother, Billy Duvall, and her half-sister, Jenny Taylor.

She is survived by her sons, David Loftus of Hopkinsville, Jeff Loftus of Murfreesboro, TN, and Kevin Loftus of Hopkinsville, along with her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, followed by burial in New Barren Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be held the same day from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Friends and family expressed their grief on social media.

Frances Sears shared, “Prayer for Gail’s family. She and Donald were very good friends of mine.”

Wayne Wilson commented, “So sorry for your loss. Such a sweet lady. Praying for the family and friends.”

Gail’s legacy of kindness and warmth will be remembered by all who knew her.
