Echo Medbery, Devoted Mother and Advocate for People with Disabilities, Passes Away at 36 in Columbus, Nebraska

Columbus, Nebraska – The community of Columbus mourns the loss of Echo Medbery, a beloved resident and advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities, who passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 36.

Her untimely death has left family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken as they remember her dedication to her family and the people she served.

Echo Medbery was born on December 15, 1987, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, where she spent her early years before making Columbus her home.

She was well known for her compassionate work and deep commitment to improving the lives of those around her.

In addition to her professional work, Echo was a loving mother who cherished spending time with her daughters, Elizabeth Hernandez, Jesenia Hernandez, and Charlie Suy.

She also enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and taking long rides with her family, creating cherished memories.

Echo is survived by her parents, Chuck and Jane Medbery, her sisters, Michelle Rallens, Laurie Medbery, Heather Schultze, and Rachael Smith, as well as her fiancé, Arturo Bragg, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service in her honor will take place at McKown Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., following a visitation on Tuesday, October 8, from 4 to 6 p.m., and a vigil service at 6:00 p.m.

Echo Medbery’s family and community will forever remember her as a vibrant, loving individual whose life was defined by her generosity and care for others.

Her legacy will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
