Donald Jevon Powell of Tullahoma Passes Away at 70; Remembered for His Kind Heart and Entrepreneurial Spirit

Tullahoma, Tennessee – Donald “Don” Jevon Powell, a beloved resident of Tullahoma, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on November 26, 1953, to Charles Jevon Powell and Hettie Mae (Jolley) Powell, Don was known for his dedication to family and his entrepreneurial spirit.

Don founded Don’s Video Repair, a business that highlighted his determination and work ethic. He and his wife of 52 years, Linda Joyce (Gordon) Powell, created a loving home, raising three children and cherishing family gatherings filled with laughter, outdoor activities, and the sounds of classic country music. Don was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed watching old Western TV shows.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, their children Autumn Elmore of Tullahoma, Angelique Phelps of Shelbyville, and Chris Powell of Murfreesboro. Don also leaves behind his brother, Thomas Gary Powell, two sisters, Betty Lou Peoples and Teresa Powell, along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Powell.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Powell Family Cemetery in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, with Brother James Bender officiating. Friends and family will gather to honor Don’s memory and celebrate his life of kindness and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

The community has expressed their condolences, with many sharing heartfelt messages. Reginna Crosslin posted, “Prayers,” reflecting the sentiment of many who knew and admired Don Powell.

Don’s family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his generous spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
