Orlando, Florida – Destinie Diaz, a 25-year-old woman from Kissimmee, tragically passed away early Tuesday following a fatal accident on Interstate 4 in Orange County.
The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. near mile marker 72, where Diaz’s Hyundai Elantra collided with an unoccupied pickup truck in an active construction zone, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Diaz was partially ejected from her vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FHP reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, a factor that may have worsened the outcome of her injuries.
The investigation into the exact circumstances leading up to the collision is ongoing.
The loss of Diaz has deeply affected her family, friends, and community, who remembered her for her cheerful personality and the joy she brought to those around her.
Britny Di Sucla expressed her sorrow on Facebook, writing, "Devastating day in the K… RIP Destinie Diaz."
Funeral arrangements and an official obituary will be released by her family in the coming days.
Diaz’s sudden passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
