David Rumsey, Beloved Father and Music Enthusiast, Passes Away After Battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis

David Rumsey passed away peacefully last weekend, surrounded by the compassionate care of the staff on Brearley 6 at the Northern General Hospital. He had been battling pulmonary fibrosis for some time and ultimately succumbed to the illness. His departure has left his family and friends deeply saddened.

David was known for his unwavering positivity, kindness, and sense of humor, which could light up even the dreariest of rooms. His passion for music was a lifelong bond with his family, and he sparked and nurtured this passion in his loved ones. The joy and love he shared through music will remain a cherished memory for all who knew him.

Robert Rumsey shared his thoughts on Facebook, expressing his profound grief and gratitude for the time spent with his father. "Words cannot express the depth of my sadness and how much I will miss my dad," Robert wrote. "He had an infectious sense of humor that could light up even the dreariest of rooms, and he sparked and nurtured many of my passions—most importantly, music, which became a lifelong bond between us."

David’s life and legacy were also remembered fondly by friends and family on social media. Robin Baker expressed condolences, saying, "So sorry to hear this Rob, condolences to you and the family. Lots of love." Stephanie Howard added, "I am so heartbroken to read this post. My love to your entire family."
