St. George, South Carolina – Chris L. Kitt, a 32-year-old resident of St. George, tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on October 4, 2024, on U.S. Highway 15 near Smoke Hill Road.
The accident occurred around 4:29 p.m., involving a Chevrolet sedan, a Dodge sedan, and a dump truck.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Kitt was driving the Chevrolet sedan when it collided with the Dodge sedan, after which it was forced into a dump truck.
Kitt’s vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The Dorchester County Coroner, Paul Brouthers, confirmed that Kitt was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in Kitt’s vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the drivers of the Dodge sedan and the dump truck were unharmed.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office.
Kitt’s death has left the community in mourning, as friends and family remember the life lost in this tragic event.
