Chicago Police Officer John Spring Faces Tragedy After Wife Megan Spring Passes Away, Fundraiser Launched for Family Support

Chicago, Illinois – Megan Spring, wife of Chicago Police Department officer John Spring, tragically passed away on September 19, 2024. Megan leaves behind her husband John and their two young children, Emma, aged 10, and Hank, aged 4. The unexpected loss has prompted friends and family to step up in support during this difficult time.

A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Rachel Weeks and two other team members, has been created to help the Spring family cover future expenses. As of today, $8,360 has been raised out of a $30,000 goal through 91 donations. Sheila Mulligan contributed the top donation of $500, while Kristina Evans made the first donation of $30.

The organizers are urging the community to come together to alleviate the financial burden on John and his children during this challenging period. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated by the family.

Rachel Weeks, the fundraiser’s organizer, along with team members Amy Weeks and Jane Kucharzyk, are encouraging people to share the fundraiser and help the Spring family in any way possible. The campaign aims to provide some relief and lessen the stress that comes with the tragic loss of a loved one.
