Dr. Avinash Pol

Down to earth nature is the sign of Dr. Avinash Pol. He is a dental surgeon by profession. Native place (Beblewadi near Satara, Maharashtra) is the source of energy for him.. He is known for his work in rural area. He guided the residents of more than 70 villages in Maharashtra to revive water bodies, sanitation work, and to learn about beneficial government schemes. Mr. Pol adopted villages in Satara district to turn them into the clean dwellings.
Dr. Pol intensive on cleanness for almost 6-7 years. While doing this, he came to realize that insufficient water supply was a big challenge for the villagers. He started building canals, linking wells, and rivers, to begin with, this help to free villages from dependency on Tankers for water.
He helps to build a lake which is full of about 10 crore liters of potable water. Dr. Pol helped to revive lakes like Bichukale, Palshi, Kirkasal, Panwan, Jakhangaon, and Velu in Satara, Akoladev, and Ghanewadi of Jalna, and Kingaon of Aurangabad. The water revolution gained such a momentum that the people started calling him as “Panyacha Doctor” (Water Doctor).
Dr. Pol is now on the advisory committee of the “Paani Foundation” started by the actor Amir Khan and also a trustee of the “Naam Foundation”, an NGO started by the actors Makarand Anaspure and Nana Patekar. Efforts taken by him from last 16-17 years have borne fruits and hence he receives many awards for his social contribution:

Dr. Avinash is the founder of ‘Prayas Foundation’, it is NGO based in Amravati. This NGO help to reach maximum people to provide solutions for their troubles. ‘Prayas’ works for betterment of the health magnitudes like spiritual, physical, mental and social health. Prayag, an NGO works for the outlying sectors of the community. From last 12 years Dr. Saoji working to solve community troubles and help needy people by sharing resources with them.
Dr. Saoji is still improving his knowledge and he is inspired by reading various books of Swami Vivekananda, Gandhiji, Baba Aamate, and Sane guruji. He believes that youth is the medium or the future of the nation. He is focusing on motivating and involving them into the social activities. Dr. Saoji is not only the motivating youth but also, he conducts different health and education related programs for the rural ethnic population. Dr. Ashok Ghatol

A renowned educationalist and scholarly personality are the most apt identity of Dr. Ashok Ghatol. He is Former Vice-chancellor in Babasaheb Technical University has 40 years’ experience in the field of Education. He starts a career as an Assistant Professor, by achieving many milestones he becomes the Vice-chancellor of the Babasaheb Ambedkar University, Lonere, Maharashtra.
He had his schooling at Amravati, B.E. in Electrical from Nagpur University and MTech Electrical with specialization in Electron Device Technology, Ph.D. Electrical from IIT Powai, Mumbai. Then he served as a Lecturer from 1973 to 1994 in various positions including HOD of Electronics and Computer Engineering Department at Government college of engineering Amravati and Aurangabad. He was principal of Government College of Engineering Amravati for 6 years and 6 months and then Principal of COEP, Pune for the period of 2001 to 2005.
He was the first director of the Autonomous college. And also, the first founder president of the alumni association of COEP. He was the best teacher awardee of Government of Maharashtra for the year of 1999.
He has worked in various positions at Central Govt., professional bodies, and a social platform. He has mentored hundreds of students for their Ph.D. During his job, he served as a Vice Presidents of Indian Society for Technical Education, Chairman of Instruments society of India, Chairman of AIB of Technician education. He served as a Technical Director at Dr. D. Y. Patil College, Akurdi, Pune and campus director at K. J. E. I., Pune. He has guided 36 MTech project and 25 Ph.D. students from different universities like Savitribai Phule University, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, and Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical University. And also publish on the number of research papers on various publications.

Loving, caring, motherly image with serenity is her uniqueness. Mata Devi Vanamali belongs to a small town which is Guruvayoor in Kerala. The temple of Lord Krishna is the main attraction of this town and this town gets worship by Lord Krishna.
Mataji Devi Vanamali completed her degree of M. A. Honours in philosophy from the University of Madras with the first class with gold medal for her scholarly brilliance. Mataji attended one of the first TM courses which depend on the book “Advaita Vedanta”, which were conducted in India at the center location called Nandi Hills near Bangalore. She was the first to teach TM to convicts in the state prison called Vuyur Jail. Weekly sessions were taken for them and she started rehabilitation. Classes were also conducted at a Cancer Institutes which leads to great benefit. After ten years Mataji left for the Himalaya.
In recent years, Shri Mataji Vanamali travels all over the world to offer the courses in the blessed way of the life of the Sanatana Dharma and she shares the wisdom of “The Srimad Bhagvat Gita.” Mataji travels many places like Germany, Italy, Sweden, USA, UK, Malaysia, France, and Brazil.
She wrote many books in English about the various gods. She wrote the book “Shri Krishna Lila” which describes the deeds of the god Shri Krishna from his birth to the end. She wrote many books and some of them are “Sri Rama Lila”, “Sri Shiva Lila”, “Sri Devi Lila,” “The sons of Shiva”, “Translation of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita”, “Nitya Yoga” or essays on the Bhagavad Gita, “Gurudeva” and “The Taste Divine” which is a book on Indian vegetarian cooking. “Shri Krishna Lila has been published with another name “The Play of God” and the book “Rama Lila” has been published under the name of “The Song of Rama.”
Mataji normally resides in the Ashram in winter from October to March. During summer she is either exploring or in her mountain retreat in the hills. The Ashram is also dynamically involved in helping the village children.

She is the Director of Women Empowerment & Child Care Programs (WECCP) for the Art of Living (AOL). Art of Living is the volunteer-based, humanitarian and educational non-government organization. Bhanumathi Narasimhan is involved in rural development programmes and education which are the parts of the Art of Living foundation. She established the “Gift a Smile- Care-for-Children” program which provides a value-based complete education for underprivileged children from tribal, rural, slum areas free of cost. Under this program, there is 435 school in 20 different states of India educating around 58000 children and the special focus on the girl child.

• She also conducts workshop and initiatives in which she spreads the message of harmony, human values and “Violence-Free Stress-Free Society.”

Dr. Renu Agrawal is the Ex. Chief Scientist at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, India and rural program coordinator for outreach activities at CFTRI. She has over 20 patents to her name, with 65+ publications in International and National Journals. She has presented more than 160 papers in various national and international conferences and delivered more than 650 talks. She has guided students for M.Sc, M. phil and PhD in Biotechnology and Microbiology.
She has represented India as a team leader taking scientific delegation for the Asia meet at Indonesia, Bali nominated by DST, Government of India. She had her PhD from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Her areas of specialization include biotransformation and probiotics. Her research involves lactic acid bacteria, yeasts and Bacillus as probiotic properties inhibiting harmful diseases and reduce the use of antibiotics improving health in the society. Her group has developed greener probiotic technologies used by the common man.
As CSIR-800 Rural development coordinator she led CSIR-CFTRI for CSIR 800 to give a better quality of life to 800 million people in India through scientific and technological intervention. Many awareness camps, demonstrations of technologies were conducted. She has been passionate about farmers and has conducted many national level conferences for all India farmers and for women farmers. She has also been proactive to show them alternate cropping with high nutrient crops.

She has been a family counsellor at Police helpline, Mysore for last twenty years and has saved many lives.
Currently she is a science communicator, reviewer, author, visiting professor in many universities and colleges and a National Expert Advisor in many committees in the ministry of science and technology and training to KAS and KPS officers for Sustainable Development Goals, in Karnataka. Her commitment to work can be seen as she was taken as Project Advisor by CFTRI even after her retirement.
She has been serving the society by her work. She has served as the secretary of "CSIR Pensioners Welfare Association, Mysuru centre after her retirement. She is a philanthropist and has been running many fellowships, national level competitions for poor meritorious students, novel writing competitions, constructed pre fixed auto stand in Mysore at Hardinge circle for public use and has donated a serum analyser for rapid detection of HIV to Asha Kirana hospital at Mysuru.
